Assessment is ongoing and within the framework of a structured curriculum.
The focus of mathematics teaching in Key Stage One is to ensure that children develop confidence and mental fluency with whole numbers, counting and place value. We work with numerals and word problems to help develop problem solving and critical thinking skills.
